Design Rationale & Key Decisions

01. Navigation restructuring

The previous site relied heavily on sidebar navigation and buried key pages in secondary menus, making it difficult to access important content across business units. The navigation was redesigned with a clear top-level hierarchy and dropdown groupings, surfacing key corporate, sustainability, and investor content while reducing reliance on sidebars.

02. Simplifying the homepage

The previous homepage contained a large volume of content with little visual hierarchy, making it difficult for users to identify key topics. The redesign simplifies the page structure and prioritizes a smaller set of strategic themes, helping visitors more easily discover important content such as sustainability initiatives and investor resources.

03. Modular content and scalable page templates

A component system supports investor content, press releases, and structured data across the site, enabling consistent page templates across AMG's multilingual platform. Components were maintained in a shared Figma design library to ensure consistency across the system.

04. Clear interaction patterns

Some elements on the previous site used similar visual treatments but behaved differently, making it unclear what was interactive. The redesign establishes clearer interaction patterns and consistent visual cues so users can easily identify links, actions, and navigational elements.

05. Reducing unnecessary interaction

The previous site relied heavily on accordions, requiring users to click repeatedly to access information. In the redesign, accordions are used more selectively so key content remains visible and easier to scan.
